Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team within a vibrant hospitality environment. The Kitchen Porter plays a crucial role in supporting the culinary team by ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about food preparation and have an interest in pursuing a career in the culinary arts. MUST BE AVAILABLE EVERY WEEKEND.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation tasks, ensuring all ingredients are ready for cooking.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, and pans.
- Support chefs and cooks by helping with basic cooking tasks and kitchen duties as required.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use.
- Help with the delivery and storage of food supplies, ensuring stock levels are maintained.
- Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.
Experience
- Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality setting is desirable but not essential; enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are key.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices is an advantage.
- A passion for culinary arts and an eagerness to develop skills in food preparation.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards helping others in the kitchen.
