Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff in food preparation and service. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain valuable experience in the culinary field within a fast-paced restaurant or hotel setting.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation tasks, ensuring all ingredients are ready for use by chefs
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, and utensils
- Support cooking staff during service by preparing ingredients and assisting with plating
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use
- Help with stock rotation and inventory management to minimise waste
- Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment
- Assist in maintaining a high standard of hygiene throughout the kitchen
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen is preferred but not essential
- Familiarity with food preparation techniques and basic cooking skills is advantageous
- A background in hospitality or culinary arts will be considered a plus
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy environment
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
