Job Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and efficient Pot Wash Operative to join our busy catering team. As part of our dynamic kitchen environment, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards by washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils used during food preparation and service. Additionally, you will be required to handle wedding and event-specific equipment, ensuring all items are properly cleaned and ready for use. Your role is crucial to ensuring the kitchen remains organized, safe, and fully stocked with the necessary equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and wedding/event-specific equipment (e.g., plates, glassware, serving trays, etc.) thoroughly and efficiently, ensuring all items are free of food particles and debris.
- Clean and sanitize work areas, sinks, and dishwashing equipment, following all health and safety regulations.
- Assist kitchen staff by maintaining a steady supply of clean dishes, utensils, and event equipment during peak service times, especially for weddings and special events.
- Organize and store clean items, including wedding/event-specific equipment, in the appropriate areas, ensuring easy access for kitchen and event staff.
- Ensure all wedding and event-specific equipment is handled carefully to prevent damage.
- Dispose of waste, including food scraps, recycling, and general waste, following proper disposal procedures.
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the dishwashing area, reporting any issues with equipment or facilities to management.
- Assist with stock rotation and help keep inventory of cleaning materials and kitchen supplies.
- Help with basic kitchen duties during quieter times, such as prep work or assisting with basic food preparation.
- Maintain a positive and proactive attitude while working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
You must be available week days as well as weekend
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £7.55-£12.50 per hour
