Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis to join our culinary team. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations by assisting in food preparation and ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards. Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients and cooking of dishes as directed by senior chefs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring all food safety and hygiene standards are adhered to.
- Support the team in food production, including portioning, plating, and presentation of dishes.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices.
- Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages.
- Supervise junior kitchen staff when required, fostering a positive team environment.
Skills
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively under pressure.
