Job Summary:
As a Key Account Operator, you will act as the main operational point of contact for assigned key accounts, ensuring their shipments are handled efficiently and in line with service expectations. You’ll work closely with internal departments and external partners to provide a smooth, reliable, and proactive service experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations for designated key accounts across air, sea, and/or road freight
- Coordinate shipments from booking through to delivery, ensuring timelines and service levels are met
- Liaise with clients regularly to provide updates, resolve issues, and ensure satisfaction
- Work with carriers, customs teams, and third-party vendors to execute shipments efficiently
- Prepare and review shipping documentation and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Monitor and track shipments, proactively resolving any delays or disruptions
- Maintain accurate records and update systems with status updates, charges, and notes
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients to encourage retention and growth
- Handle client-specific reporting, KPIs, and service level agreements (SLAs) as required
- Collaborate with sales, operations, and finance teams to meet client expectations and internal targets
Requirements:
- Previous experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain operations (2+ years preferred)
- Experience handling key or VIP accounts is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of multimodal freight (air, sea, road) and customs processes
- Proficiency with freight systems (e.g., CargoWise, ASM, Descartes, etc.)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and time management
- Strong customer service ethos and problem-solving mindset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Pay: £22,880.00-£37,000.00 per year
