This is an exciting Kennel Hand and Assistant apprentice opportunity to join a fun, dynamic and varied business.

Duties will include but not limited;

Cleaning management
Completing exercise and welfare of dogs in our care.
Attending the basic needs and further development needs of dogs in our care
Feeding
Helping and assisting in basic day to day training sessions with dogs in our care.
Communication and reporting back to training, and other staff members.

Desired Skills and Qualities

Desired Qualifications

Applicants must not already hold a level 2 or above qualification in Animal Care
GCSE or Equivalent Grade C/4 or above in maths and English Desirable but not essential

Future Progression

Training

Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
The applicant will be working towards a Level 2 Animal Care & Welfare Apprenticeship Standard.
The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship
The apprentice will be working to build a portfolio of evidence and will be required to pass a knowledge test and an End Point Assessment (EPA) to complete the apprenticeship.

Things to Consider

Mainly outdoor, working with animals, lots of exercise, and a great deal of fun playing with the dogs and cuddling cats.
This employer location is not near any public transport links so applicants will need to able to get to work independently.

Job Type: Apprenticeship

Pay: £8.50-£10.00 per hour
