Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Tutor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tutoring or teaching, with experience working with children, including those with special educational needs. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to engage students effectively in their learning journey.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that align with curriculum standards
- Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and areas for improvement
- Collaborate with other educators and support staff to enhance the learning experience for all students
What We’re Looking For
- Practical joinery experience (minimum 3–5 years) in construction or a related trade.
- A Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in Joinery/Carpentry.
- A passion for teaching and supporting learners of all ages and abilities.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Good IT skills for record-keeping and lesson preparation.
- A strong commitment to Health & Safety in the workshop.
Desirable (but not essential)
- A recognised teaching qualification (Cert Ed, AET, PGCE, etc.) – or willingness to work towards one (support provided).
- Assessor award (A1/TAQA) – or willingness to achieve this.
- Experience delivering accredited training.
