Purpose of the Role


  • Provide general support to the Environmental Projects team across a range of ongoing initiatives and priorities.
  • Conduct policy research on environmental and carbon markets, covering a variety of project types, thematic areas, and jurisdictions.
  • Undertake ad-hoc research assignments as required, aligned with specific project needs or team requests.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of financial and carbon models to support project evaluation and planning.
  • Contribute to the preparation of marketing materials, investor decks, and internal presentations.
  • Attend and participate in meetings with project developers, stakeholders, and external partners, as well as conferences and in-person events when required.
  • Support the team with additional tasks or responsibilities as appropriate.

  • Build a strong foundational understanding of environmental and carbon markets, including key mechanisms, players, and market dynamics.
  • Gain familiarity with the principal international policies and frameworks that govern carbon markets and climate finance.
  • Develop knowledge of various carbon project types and the fundamental scientific principles underlying their methodologies and impacts.
  • Demonstrate the ability to independently conduct research using a range of sources, including official registries, policy documents, and academic or industry publications.
  • Remain informed on current trends, regulatory changes, and emerging developments that influence the carbon markets and the broader environmental project landscape.

Skills and Experience


  • Studying or recently graduated in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Economics, Finance, Policy, or a related field
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge or keen interest in carbon markets and climate finance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with financial or carbon modelling is a plus
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive, curious, and able to work independently as well as in a team
