Rogers & Norton Solicitors is seeking an ambitious and motivated Intellectual Property Litigator to join our busy and expanding Commercial and Litigation Teams. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented solicitor to take on a varied and stimulating caseload of both contentious and non-contentious IP matters, working with a diverse client base across multiple sectors.
The Role
As an Intellectual Property Litigator, you will be:
Contentious Work
Acting for individuals and corporates in IP disputes, including trademark, copyright, boundary disputes and infringement claims.
Managing cases through all stages, from pre-action correspondence, pleadings, disclosure and evidence to hearings, trial and enforcement.
Representing clients before the IPEC, High Court and other relevant forums, with opportunities for advocacy.
Non-Contentious Work
Advising on, drafting and negotiating licensing, joint venture, collaboration and IP assignment agreements.
Supporting corporate and commercial transactions, including due diligence and contract drafting.
Conducting IP audits, portfolio reviews, risk assessments and strategic planning to protect and commercialise clients’ intellectual property.
Collaboration & Client Service
Working closely with colleagues across our Commercial, Employment and Corporate teams to provide seamless, multi-disciplinary client support.
Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent communication and practical advice.
Liaising with external counsel and experts.
Practice Development
Contributing to business development, networking, marketing initiatives to strengthen the firm’s IP offering.
Playing a proactive role in shaping the growth of the team and mentoring junior colleagues where appropriate.
Requirements
We are looking for a solicitor who can demonstrate:
2–5 years PQE with exposure to both contentious and non-contentious matters.
Strong technical knowledge of UK intellectual property law.
Excellent drafting, negotiation and advocacy skills.
Commercial awareness and the ability to manage a busy and varied caseload with minimal supervision.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, colleagues and external contacts.
