Job Summary:
The Income and Finance Officer is responsible for managing all aspects of income and finance within the organisation. This includes monitoring and analysing financial data, preparing financial reports, managing the company's sales ledger, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, payment processing, and collections, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and providing financial advice and support to senior management.
This role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Manage the company's income generation activities, including invoicing, payment processing, and
collections.
2. Monitor and analyse financial data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
3.Monitor and reconcile accounts receivable to ensure accuracy and timely payment.
4.Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts receivable.
5.Maintain and update the sales ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of customer records.
6.Generate and process invoices for services provided, ensuring accuracy in pricing, discounts, and
other billing details.
7. Manage trade counter payments including customer secure card payments.
8. Setting up new customer accounts.
9. Monitor and follow up on outstanding customer payments, ensuring timely collections.
10.Collaborate with the sales team to resolve any billing discrepancies or customer enquiries.
11.Prepare and distribute regular reports on accounts receivable status and aging.
12.Monitor credit limits and terms for customers, ensuring compliance with company policies.
13.Manage and maintain financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and
Regulations and recommending improvements.
14. Provide financial advice and support to senior management, assisting in decision-making and
planning.
15. Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue generation.
16. Maintain confidentiality of financial information and customer data.
17. Train and mentor junior finance staff, ensuring their professional development.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. A professional certification (e.g., AAT) is preferred.
2. Proven work experience as a Finance/ Sales Ledger officer or similar role.
3. Strong knowledge of financial management principles and practices.
4. Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
6. Attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
9. Excellent organisational and time management skills.
10. Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
11. Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
