At the HR Service Centre, we are currently looking to appoint to our HR Core Services Team, we have a position available within our HR Customers Services Team.
We are actively adopting a hybrid way of working which will include both home and office working based on service and customer needs.
The HR Shared Service Centre (HRSC) provides HR and Payroll transactional services for Rotherham and Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Councils along with 80 plus other organisations, our main driver is to provide a first class professional and efficient service.
The HRSC promotes excellence across all of its functions, and this is reflected in the required standard of performance and value placed on our customer service. If successful, you will join our experienced Core Services Team.
In our Customer Services team you would be, providing advice, operational and administrative support to managers and internal customers (employees) in relation to the HR and Payroll function, including; salary payments, statutory and non-statutory deductions, pension administration, monthly payroll reconciliations, sickness absence administration, maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental leave administration, recruitment advertising, pre-employment checks and contracts of employment.
It is essential that you possess an ability to communicate at all levels and with a wide variety of people, can work on your own initiative, prioritising your own workload to meet pre-set deadlines and work with attention to detail and accuracy in respect of processing information. An understanding of Local Government or Teachers conditions of service would be a distinct advantage but not essential. Contact Centre experience would also be advantageous but not essential.

Until 31st March 2026 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a monthly deduction from each pay period over the full financial year. In recognition of implementing this temporary measure, those who experience a pay reduction will be awarded three additional days leave (pro rata for part-time).
