We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources Assistant to provide high-quality support to the HR team at Vertis Health. This part-time role is central to the smooth running of our HR function, focusing on accurate data management, recruitment and onboarding support, and employee administration. It offers an excellent entry point for those who want to build a career in HR within the NHS primary care environment.
We are looking for the hours as outlined above, and can be flexible around break times and childcare needs. However, if the overall pattern does not work for you, our ability to make changes to the core structure would be very limited.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the HR SharePoint system and other HRIS platforms to ensure accurate, compliant employee records.
- Use Microsoft Planner, Lists, and collaboration tools effectively.
- Carry out data entry and documentation with a high level of confidentiality and accuracy.
- Support recruitment activity, including talent attraction, preparing job packs, advertising roles, and coordinating interview arrangements.
- Facilitate onboarding for new starters, preparing documentation, right to work checks, and induction sessions.
- Provide day-to-day administrative support, such as scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and responding to employee queries.
- Supporting line managers with management tasks including return to work meetings, probationary reviews, medical risk assessments, welfare meetings etc.
- Assist with employee engagement activities and training administration.
- Contribute to the promotion of Vertis Health as an employer of choice, including light support for HR communications and social media.
Experience and Skills Required
- Previous experience in HR administration or a busy office support role (essential).
- Familiarity with HR systems such as SharePoint or Sage HR (desirable).
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Proactive nature is a must.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
- Proficient IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
