We are now recruiting for a professional, confident, and solution-focused HR Advisor to join our dedicated HR team at Cambian, part of the CareTech Group. This role will support our Education Division and can be based at either our Head Office in Uxbridge or our North West Regional Office in Stockport. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about employee relations and HR best practice, who is ready to make a real difference in a high-impact, fast-paced role.
In this role, you’ll become a key player in our HR function—providing impartial, balanced advice and guidance to managers at all levels. Working closely with the HR Business Partner, you’ll manage a varied ER caseload and support the continuous improvement of HR processes across the region.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Be the first point of contact for managers requiring HR advice and support.
- Lead and guide on a wide range of ER cases, including:
- Sickness absence (short & long term)
- Disciplinaries, grievances, and investigations
- Performance and capability management
- Flexible working and whistleblowing cases
- Support with suspension processes and occupational health referrals.
- Schedule and attend formal HR meetings, including accurate note-taking.
- Draft formal documentation, including outcome letters and case correspondence.
- Maintain positive working relationships with trade union representatives.
- Monitor absence triggers and ensure compliance with internal policies.
- Deliver coaching and training to managers on key HR topics.
- Support on HR projects and contribute to the development of policies and practices.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Solid experience in employee relations and HR advisory work
- Confident communicating with stakeholders at all levels
- Experience in drafting professional, accurate documentation
- Proficient IT skills including Microsoft Office and HR systems (iTrent would be highly desirable).
- Proven experience providing advice on complex ER matters.
Desirable
- Working towards CIPD Level 5 OR significant experience in an HR Advisory role.
- Experience engaging with trade unions and employee reps
