Responsibilities
- Maximize the potential of new housing schemes for council tenants aged 55 and above by promoting awareness through various communication channels in collaboration with the communications team.
- Serve as a point of contact for individuals interested in the new housing schemes.
- Provide advice on affordability and strategies for income maximization.
- Facilitate visits and viewings of the housing schemes.
- Coordinate with operational teams to ensure smooth, expedited application, assessment, and move-in processes, contributing additional capacity as needed.
- Engage in face-to-face and telephone interactions with tenants, listening to their housing concerns and aspirations, and liaising with operational teams to address issues raised.
- Record outcomes of interactions accurately, using insights to inform housing stock decisions for the next 2-5 years.
- Support customers in a Supported Housing scheme, promoting independence and community reintegration, while managing sensitive lets due to neighborhood considerations.
- Cover absences in teams handling risk assessment and support for housing service customers who have experienced Domestic Abuse, as well as managing Housing First dwellings for individuals with a history of rough sleeping.
- Adapt to evolving role responsibilities in response to operational pressures and insights, focusing on housing-management project work to enable change and optimize resource use.
Person Specification
- Experience in housing management.
- Ability to build and manage relationships with colleagues, customers, and advocates.
- Capacity to understand allocation criteria for new schemes following induction and training.
- Expertise in assessing affordability and providing income maximization advice is advantageous.
- Skill in managing expectations and communicating difficult information with clarity and respect.
- Ability to support customers, make referrals to internal and external agencies, and guide them to relevant services.
- Competence in identifying individuals in crisis and experience with safeguarding procedures.
