The Milbank Arms is a recently renovated Grade II listed pub with luxury rooms and cottages in the village of Barningham on the North Yorkshire/County Durham boarder, located on the edge of Barningham moor and surrounded by fantastic local produce.
Recently reopened under new management, we are seeking a meticulous, dedicated, and experienced Housekeeper to help ensure our property is maintained to the highest standards. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in their work and can inspire others to do the same.
As Housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining immaculate cleanliness and presentation throughout the pub and letting accommodation, and upholding consistent 5 star standards.
Duties
- Perform and oversee the regular cleaning of guest areas and changeovers of letting accommodation.
- Manage and train future housekeeping staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow and consistently high standards.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality control and address any issues promptly.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules via accessing booking systems, ensuring adequate staffing levels.
- Manage inventory of linen supplies, placing top-up orders when required.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary.
- Co-ordinate with other departments (e.g. front of house and owners) to ensure seamless guest experience.
About you
- Proven experience in a housekeeping role, preferably within the hospitality or hotel industry.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A passion for cleanliness, order & presentation.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong sense of reliability.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if required.
- Knowledge of cleaning products, techniques, and equipment is essential.
- A commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
