Housekeeper required at Hidden Garden Day Nursery in the heart of Midsomer Norton.
Ideally the successful candidate will have previous experience and a good knowledge of nutrition and catering for children.
Hours required are Monday to Friday 10.30-3PM with one 10-2.30pm shift a week
£12.50 per hour.
Role responsibilities:
- To prepare and serve lunch meeting all allergy and dietary requirements of each child
- To ensure that the kitchen is kept clean and is swept and mopped daily, all bins are emptied, all food prep areas are sprayed and wiped down using appropriate cleaner.
- To ensure all communal areas are kept up to a clean standard- hoovering staff room, emptying bins, all hot point areas are wiped down, communal areas are dusted/ cob webs removed.
- All washing/ drying is kept up together including all soft furnishings within the setting and working with each room on a timetable for all children’s bedding to be washed.
-To provide lunch cover for staff within rooms when required
- To maintain a safe, clean and healthy kitchen environment working to the Safer Food, Better Business standards
- To regulate kitchen stock control and collate food purchasing orders as appropriate.
- To maintain accurate records regarding temperature controls, allergen documentation in accordance with the Better Food Safer Business guidelines.
- To always meet health and safety and environmental health requirements.
- To liaise with nursery staff regarding children’s specific dietary requirements.
- To attend any training events or staff / team meetings as identified by the Nursery manager.
- To ensure adherence to the settings code of practice
- To keep up to date with all training in relation to the role including all safeguarding requirements, first aid at work and food hygiene and food allergen training
