Ferny Crofts Activity Centre is located in the beautiful New Forest National Park, and features three accommodation buildings, camping for over 500, and outdoor activities including climbing, high ropes, archery and more. We cater to Scouts and Guides, as well as Schools and other Youth Groups.
Summary
The Housekeeper is a key member of the team, ensuring our Facilities are always kept clean and made ready for our Guests’ arrival on site. The Housekeeper will often lead a small team during busy periods, to ensure buildings are turned around in good time and a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene is maintained throughout the centre.
The successful candidate will have experience as a Cleaner, Cleaning Supervisor or Housekeeper, ideally within Hospitality. They will be friendly and enthusiastic, a good team player with great attention to detail.
You will report directly to the Facilities Manager/ Duty Manager and have responsibility for the day to day running of the housekeeping department, along with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop the team through effective communication and problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of indoor accommodation units and communal areas.
- Ensure all facilities are well-stocked with necessary supplies.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness in outdoor areas as needed.
- Respond to guest requests promptly to enhance their experience.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure dining areas are clean and presentable.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management.
Requirements
- Proven experience in housekeeping or commercial cleaning roles.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with guests.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and priorities.
