Responsibilities
- Welcome guests with full attention, providing excellent customer service at all times
- Follow check in/check out procedures as per our standards
- Ensure guest queries are dealt with in an efficient and friendly manner
- Operate computerised reservation system
- Dealing with room reservations
- Completing administration procedures when guests arrive and leave
- Manage housekeeping reports and liaise with housekeeping team
- Preparing bills and taking payments
- Manage hotel switchboard, dealing with customer queries via telephone and email
- Be familiar with sales and promotional activity and upsell at every given opportunity
- Dealing with special requests from guests and ensure all aspects of guest needs communicated in advance of their arrival
- Escort guests to bedrooms and be familiar with all facilities offered in hotel
- Adhere to procedures regarding guest messages/mail/laundry/lost property
- Answering questions about local area
- To participate in any training and personnel exercises designed to improve standards and performance
- Wear clean uniform & name badge at all times and ensure a high level of personal hygiene & grooming
- Observe all requirements under Health & Safety regulations
Requirements
- Recent experience of working as a receptionist in a hotel or similar environment is essential
- GCSE Maths and English grades A-C (or equivalent)
- Administration and customer service skills
- IT skills to work with computerised PMS booking and payment systems; such has Reslynx
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- A friendly and professional telephone manner
- Patience and tact
- The ability to stay calm under pressure and multitask
- Must be available to work at weekends, evenings and on Bank Holidays
35 hours per week, working various shifts Monday-Sunday (5 days out of 7), on a shift pattern between 7am-11pm
