Binn Group are seeking an experienced HGV Workshop Controller who will co-ordinate, oversee and record repair and maintenance associated with our extensive fleet of waste collection vehicles and trailers. The company have invested heavily in state-of-the-art processing equipment, mobile plant and waste collection vehicles. Working as part of the workshop team, based in our purpose-built modern workshop at Binn Eco Park, the role will involve maintenance and repairs to a wide range of equipment.

HGV Workshop Controller: Key Responsibilities
- Update & maintain effective maintenance records on R2C system.
- Ensure daily driver defects and actioned/reviewed/closed off.
- Sourcing/ordering of parts, ensuring cost effectiveness.
- Carry out cost effective mechanical repairs to HGV fleet & trailers.
- Attend road-side breakdowns when required.
- Preparing HGV's & Trailers for MOT.
- Oversee periodic maintenance inspections.
- Fault finding, repair and maintenance of skip/roro/bin truck bodies and lifting equipment.
- Ensure that all materials/parts are ordered and at hand to support timely repairs.
- Comply with the requirements of a safe working environment following the H&S policy.
The Ideal Candidate....
- Experience of working with HGV’s is essential to the role.
- Understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems.
- A HGV driving licence is essential to the role.
- Ability to work autonomously and independently.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Internal customer service focus.
- Can do attitude/Willingness to learn
- Basic IT skills required to update and record maintenance records on company systems.
What we offer
- Usual hours 0600hrs - 1600hrs, on a rota for Saturday half day.
- £19 to £21 per hour – dependent on experience.
- Overtime rate after 45 Hours - £25.33 to £28 per hour
