Overview
We are seeking an experienced Heat Treatment Operative to join our Nasmyth Bulwell operation.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for monitoring and controlling heat treatment processes to achieve desired material properties while adhering to quality standards and safety regulations.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols while operating heat treatment equipment and handling hot materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring the safe storage of materials, tools, and equipment.
- Identify and troubleshoot any equipment malfunctions or process deviations that may impact the quality of heat treatment.
- Monitor and control temperature, parameters during heat treatment cycles to ensure precise and consistent results.
- Load and unload components into/from heat treatment equipment, ensuring proper placement and configuration.
Essential
- Knowledge of N Type Thermocouples - Max temp we go up to is 800° C lowest is 480° C and Cycle times last from 4hrs up to 16 hrs
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot process issues.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- System accuracy test or "SATS" is essential
- Temperature uniformity survey or "TUS" is essential
- Good PC skills
Desirable
- Worked with NADCAP and AMS2750
- Read an engineering drawing
- Knowledge of "hardness testing " and a Vickers type m/c
- Used a degreasing bath
- Surface finishing -Blasting / grit or glass
