Permanent- 37.5 hours per week

Role overview:
As a Healthcare Assistant you will contribute in the delivery of care needs to the patients by assisting the team to provide a high standard of nursing care. We value all our people and will provide you support and a great place to work.
How you'll help us make health happen:
- Assist in delivering a high standard of holistic care to patients, recognising their individuality, and promoting privacy and dignity.
- Assist with patient hygiene, elimination, mobility, physical comfort, eating, drinking, whilst observing and reporting specific changes.
- Observe and report changes in patient's condition to named nurse / nurse in charge.
- Assist the nursing staff with moving and repositioning of patients within the manual handling policies as required.
- Ensure the needs and concerns of patients and their friends/relatives are given thorough attention and a friendly and efficient service is provided.
- Assist nursing staff with ward preparation for admission and to ensure the bay areas are appropriately cleaned on patient discharge or transfer.

Transport clinical specimens / Prescription charts, as directed, to the relevant
Departments. - Assist in orientating patients and visitors to the ward environment.
- Restocking ward supply levels and report when stock levels are low.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
- NVQ Level 2 -Direct Patient Care or equivalent. (Essential)
- NVQ Level 3 - Direct Patient Care. (Desirable)
- Experience working in a hospital setting on the medical ward.
- Competent with venepuncture and phlebotomy skills.
- First Aid Course.
- Competent in written and oral English.
