Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in a care home or home care setting, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to implement care plans and assist with daily living activities. Strong communication skills and the ability to drive are essential for this position.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility support.
- Implement care plans as directed by healthcare professionals, ensuring that all patient needs are met effectively.
- Communicate regularly with patients, their families, and the healthcare team to provide updates on patient progress and any concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and report any changes in condition to the appropriate personnel.
- Support patients in engaging in social activities and maintaining their independence as much as possible.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for all patients by following health and safety protocols.
- Utilise IT systems to document care provided and manage patient information efficiently.
Experience
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with care plans and the ability to communicate effectively in English is crucial.
- A genuine passion for helping others and a commitment to providing high-quality care are essential traits for success in this role.
