Job summary
We are looking for a Head of People Analytics and Reporting to join us at Companies House!
The Head of People Analytics and Reporting is a pivotal role within the Workforce Planning, Analytics and HR Systems Team, working with the business and broader HR Teams to identify future demands as well as translating Companies House priorities into resourcing, skills, and redeployment plans.
You will work with colleagues from across Companies House to ensure our workforce plans match the level of our ambition, and that our resources are aligned with workload and financial planning. You are responsible for collating workforce forecasts over a short, medium and long term and will be instrumental in critiquing and challenging resource requests originating from across the organisation. Working closely with Finance, you will provide regular updates to the Executive Team and will prepare the resourcing aspects of our annual Spending Review submission to Cabinet Office, alongside other scheduled and ad hoc regulatory data returns/ commissions.
You will lead the People Analytics and Reporting team, which are a blend of new and established functions. Working with colleagues in Data, Strategy and Finance, you will continue to build the capability and confidence of the teams, ensuring the integrity of the reports we produce and maximising opportunities to make reporting and data analysis system improvements.
Youll need to be able to balance the requirement for accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to think creatively in determining solutions. Forming early and trusted relationships with a range of colleagues and stakeholders will be key to success in this role.

Job description
- Leading workforce planning routines to forecast and track Companies Houses workforce position including reviewing headcount against spend and other organisational targets.
- Bringing together workforce data, business insights and strategic workforce principles to develop and implement the data analysis and reporting Companies Houses strategic workforce plan.
- Working with HR, Data and Finance Business Partners to integrate workforce plans, budget aims and objectives across Companies House.
- Set the priorities on we best maintain and improve our reporting and analysis systems to ensure effective collation, validation, analysis, interpretation of workforce and people data across Companies House, identifying trends and risks to delivery and reporting into Executive Board.
- Identify and implement processes to establish consistent benchmarking between Companies Houses key metrics and external trends.
- Identify, evaluate and implement innovative data visualisation, analytical and reporting techniques as part of a planned continuous improvement cycle.
- Establish managed and quantified processes for analysis and reporting service delivery to ensure business change and operational risk can be managed.
- Working in partnership with finance colleagues and wider HR team to provide comprehensive workforce analysis that links workforce information, finance and resourcing activity data to inform recruitment, retention, redeployment and exit plans.
- Oversee the People data aspects of the annual Spending Review return to Cabinet Office and other relevant commissions ensuring data is accurate supplemented with a narrative endorsed by the Executive Team.
- Overseeing the development and utilisation of the data reports produced by People Analytics Ensure that approved cost pressures and forecasts and project efficiencies and organisational structure changes are correctly integrated in workforce analytics, including forecasts of and implemented, working with HR business partners to plan responses accordingly.
- Leadership and development of the People Analytics and Reporting team, effectively coaching and mentoring, both on an individual and team level, to drive high performance.
- Work in close collaboration with the HR Systems & Data team and the Head of Workforce Planning to ensure alignment of services, positive collaborative working, and efficient processes.

Where will you be working?
You will be aligned to our Cardiff office, where you will be expected to attend on a regular basis. We are currently using a hybrid approach to the way we work which provides opportunities for you to be adaptable in the way you work so that you can achieve a healthy balance between your work and home life. The degree of choice you have will depend on your role and your day-to-day work activities. Your manager will agree regular patterns of attendance with you, however you may be required to make yourself available to attend the office more frequently when required to meet business needs.

- There will be a presentation as part of the interview process to prepare in advance. BPSS is an entry level security check. It uses the Police National Computer (PNC) to make sure a candidate has no convictions. The check returns evidence of any current criminal record and un-spent convictions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
