Job Title: Head of Infrastructure Functional Assurance (Submarines)

The Head of Infrastructure Functional Assurance is accountable for leading the team of experts who exist to govern, assure and enable delivery of the Major infrastructure programme, creating a consistent and aligned framework to allow the successful execution of the scope of the projects.
A key aspect of this new role is to ensure our capable supply chain partners bring the benefit of their expertise, whilst meeting the requirements of Rolls Royce Submarines. This role will cover nuclear and non-nuclear projects, and supports the significant investment across the business over the next decade. You will be a key member of the Infrastructure DBU, using your knowledge, expertise and leadership skills to establish and lead the Infrastructure Functional Assurance capability for the Safety, Design, Construction and Quality functions.

What you will be doing:
With this exciting opportunity you will get a chance to be involved with the following:
Accountable for defining, initiating, implementing, and sustaining a coordinated approach to key infrastructure functions.
Responsible for performance, management, and continuous improvement of support functions within the Infrastructure Delivery Business Unit
Define operational methodologies for each function and deploy functional leads into project delivery teams to meet programme needs.
Ensure effective collaboration with internal customers, functions, and long-term delivery partners to drive successful outcomes.
Enhance internal capabilities and develop a lasting legacy by leveraging external partners' strengths, setting a benchmark for the wider Rolls-Royce Group.
Jointly accountable with Infrastructure DBU leadership for setting direction, supporting operational relationships with customers and agencies, and ensuring infrastructure assurance across both fissile and non-fissile elements.

To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria:
Proven track record in delivering and assuring major projects within regulated, high-hazard manufacturing and/or large EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) programmes.
Degree-qualified (or equivalent professional experience) in a relevant engineering or professional discipline, with knowledge of infrastructure investment programme management and delivery.
Demonstrated dynamic and inspirational leadership, with experience in people leadership, change management, and creating a culture of trust and collaboration.
Strong interpersonal, diplomacy, and influencing skills with a proven ability to build effective relationships at all levels, including suppliers and external stakeholders.
Skilled in making business decisions that balance quality, operational risk, compliance with standards, and business performance in both favourable and challenging conditions.
Flexible, problem-solving mindset with the ability to travel within the UK and globally; culturally aware, with tolerance for diverse challenges and working environments.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines, you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you must hold a UK nationality.
