WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for Head of Hospitality, which will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of hospitality operations at the Etihad Stadium. This includes delivering exceptional guest experiences, managing a large and diverse team, and driving commercial performance. The role requires a strategic mindset, operational excellence, and a passion for service, with a focus on both match-day and non-match-day operations.
THE PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The role is essential to ensuring operational excellence and providing guest with an exceptional culinary experience on match days. The Head Chef will oversee the day-to-day kitchen operations, lead menu development, and manage supplier relationships to maintain high standards in food quality, service, and safety, continually driving innovation. To support the wider culinary operation within other departments.
A FLAVOUR OF THE DAY TO DAY
- Lead, coach and develop a team of salaried managers and up to 1,000 casual workers to deliver outstanding service and world-class hospitality experiences.
- Oversee all aspects of hospitality operations, ensuring consistent delivery of high standards across all hospitality areas including service, cleanliness, and presentation.
- Manage and optimise match-day staffing operations and deployment in collaboration with the People Team.
- Develop and implement a commercial plan to maximise match-day and event revenue, margin, and profitability.
- Monitor performance against key financial metrics (sales, labour, GP, expenses) and adjust strategies proactively.
- Manage the departmental budget, including non F&B purchasing, labour productivity, and forecasting in alignment with P&L objectives
- Serve as the primary point of contact for hospitality matters for internal and external stakeholders, including MCFC, CFG and suppliers.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Proven experience in leading high volume hospitality operations a hospitality operations team, either across multi-site environments or within a large-scale single venue
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and inspire large, high-performing teams through effective behaviours, role-modelling, structured meetings, and effective coaching—while also acting as the first point of contact for team-related matters and supporting individual and collective performance.
- Excellent organisation skills, with a track record of managing multiple workloads and shifting priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, optimising labour efficiency, and delivering against operational KPIs.
- Experience in developing and delivering high-quality hospitality operations across multi-service environments or complex operational settings
- High level of resilience and adaptability when faced with conflicting business challenges, service challenges or tight deadlines
- Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently, using sound judgement and initiative to drive results.
