We are seeking an experienced and commercially-minded professional to take on the role of Head of Groups and Summer Programmes. This role carries full responsibility for the budgeting, planning, development, and delivery of our summer and year-round group programmes across all 11 Bayswater centres.
You will lead the strategic direction of the division, manage partner relationships, ensure profitability, and oversee operational excellence contributing directly to the organisation’s growth and mission.
Location: UK-based, preferably in London or Brighton
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Development
- Provide annual budget and set sales prices for Year Round Groups and Summer programmes
- Coordinate Cost gathering from Year Round Schools
- Work with schools to develop alternative programme offers (English for Specific Purposes, Study Abroad, Corporate)
- Work with Sales & Marketing team to develop marketing materials
- Work with Global Sales Director and CFO to agree sales targets for group and summer programmes
- Develop and innovate programmes in line with wider Bayswater portfolio, values and goals while identify new opportunities, locations and programmes
- Communicate with stakeholders (Sales, Admissions, Schools, Finance) to ensure alignment
Sales/Business Development
- Lead Quoting and Price negotiation within margin and gross profit targets agreed with CFO
- Key account management for partner agents focused on group programmes
- Seek non-traditional partnerships for group programmes and growth e.g. Study Abroad, Hospitality, programmes like IBS Americas
- Liaise regularly with sales managers and directors to understand market needs and ensure we are maximising our opportunities
- Liaise with Sales Team for updates on enquiries, allocations and bookings
- Deliver internal training on product and locations to Sales Team
Operations
- Line manage and lead the Study Abroad & Groups team
- Develop operational systems, procedures and processes ensuring they are effective, run smoothly and contribute to an outstanding service for clients
- Support the college teams resolve operational problems as appropriate
- Ensure bookings for summer and year-round group programmes are made in an efficient, accurate and cost-effective manner
- Monitor quote/enquiry turnaround time is within internal targets and maintain CRM/CLASS/Overview accuracy
- Liaise with centres to ensure costs remain accurate and support to find alternative suppliers
- Work with finance for visibility on payments and any groups/agents with outstanding balances/debts and work to recover.
- Support Senior Leadership Team in different projects as and when required
Reporting & Targets
- Monitor financial performance of groups through groups overview, ensure centres are abiding by costs
- Compile monthly performance reports around key metrics Year on Year and against Target for Quoters, Bookings, Production and Profitability
The ideal Candidate will have:
- Proven experience in international education, group or summer programmes
- Strong commercial skills and financial acumen: experience in budget setting, pricing strategy, and profitability analysis
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, capable of building strong links with different stakeholders: partner agents, suppliers, and internal teams.
- A proactive and strategic thinker, with a passion for programme development and educational impact and ability to identify and act on new market opportunities
- Ability to lead teams and oversee operations across multiple locations
- Flexibility to travel internationally when needed
- Strong knowledge of CRM tools and financial tracking
