Multi-agency Safeguarding in Harrow
In Harrow, the statutory functions for safeguarding children are overseen by the Harrow Safeguarding Children Partnership (HSCP), a multi-agency group of leaders from Health, Police, Social Care, voluntary and community agencies and other partners who work to ensure multi-agency co-ordination to keep children safe and support families.

Harrow’s Safeguarding Children Partnership (HSCP) is recruiting Lay Members:
- Are you interested in safeguarding children in need of protection or care?
- Are you confident in challenging safeguarding partners to achieve good outcomes for children and families?
- Are you looking for a volunteering role where you can make an impact?
- Could you help our multi-agency safeguarding partnership address local issues that affect how children and families are protected?
Harrow Safeguarding Children Partnership wants to recruit lay members to support and challenge the work of local agencies in their work of protecting the most vulnerable children and families in our community.

Key Activity - Lay Members
The successful candidate will partake in:
- Quarterly HSCP partnership meetings (where all agencies involved in safeguarding are present) or;

Smaller quarterly sub-groups which:
- do deep dive quality assurance work
- review our safeguarding learning and development and
- review individual serious safeguarding cases.
Key Qualities - Lay Members
The successful candidate will:
- have a keen interest in child safeguarding and in achieving good outcomes for children and families through effective partnership working;
- be confident in taking opportunities to constructively to challenge senior leaders and shape multi-agency safeguarding decision-making;
- be committed to regularly attending and supporting the HSCP as Lay Members.
