Job Summary
The Grounds Maintenance Worker plays a vital role in maintaining the aesthetic and functional quality of outdoor spaces on the railway.This position involves a variety of tasks related to vegetation maintenance, including tree work ensuring that gardens and grounds are well-kept and safe.
Responsibilities
- Perform regular landscape maintenance, including mowing, trimming, tree maintenance and felling
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for groundskeeping tasks.
- Maintain equipment in good working order through routine checks and minor repairs.
- Build and maintain garden structures such as fences
- Ensure all areas are kept clean and free from debris to promote safety and aesthetics.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance is preferred but not essential.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in gardening and landscaping tasks.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to assist with equipment maintenance is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and initiative.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of work.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labour for extended periods in various weather conditions.
