We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Grounds Assistant to join the Birdworld team on a fixed 12-month term (maternity cover), full-time basis, working 38 hours per week including working a regular weekend day.
Pay rate up to £12.21 per hour.

About the Role
The role reports to the Grounds Team Lead. This department at Birdworld looks after the extensive 26 acres of grounds, including the visitor facilities such as guest washrooms, litter/bin control, recycling management, upkeep of landscaped and garden areas as well as some general maintenance. Ensuring all areas are presented and displayed to the highest of quality for each guest, attention to detail is key. This role includes extensive manual handling and physical labour and working outside in all weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Mowing of lawns and livestock paddocks
- Hedge cutting, borders and general landscaping
- Planting, clearing and maintaining general areas throughout the site
- Detailed upkeep of guest facilities, including washroom cleaning, waste and litter control
- Planning and preparation for events, e.g. Christmas, Halloween and more
