Overall purpose of the role:
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Ground Worker to join our team in Caerphilly. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to site preparation, landscaping, and general labour. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient operation of construction and maintenance projects. The Ground Worker will work under the supervision of foremen or site managers and collaborate closely with other team members.
Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- Remove and relay or lay new, flag work as necessary.
- Identify and rectify defects in groundwork as required.
- Prepare and lay new concrete paths and ramps.
- Prepare and lay concrete footings for brickwork.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to operate hand tools and light machinery safely and effectively.
- Valid driver’s license preferred; certification in equipment operation is a plus.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Dig trenches, holes, and ditches as required for utilities and landscaping. Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Experience in Ground working essential on site and domestic premises.
- Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Groundwork and General Construction desirable.
- Clean current driving licence essential.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
