Greenkeeper – Whitley Bay Golf Club
Whitley Bay | Full Time – 40 hours/week | Competitive Salary (DOE)
We’re looking for a skilled and passionate Greenkeeper to join our experienced team at Whitley Bay Golf Club - a coastal links course with a proud heritage and a loyal membership.
Reporting to the Course Manager, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and improving the course to the highest possible standard, ensuring it’s set up each day to deliver an excellent playing experience.
What We’re Looking For
Ideally, you’ll bring:
3+ years’ experience in golf course maintenance
A proactive, positive attitude and pride in delivering quality work
NVQ Level 2 (or working towards), spraying and chainsaw certification – desirable but not essential
A flexible approach to seasonal hours and weekend rota working
Great time management and team spirit
A full UK driving licence
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be responsible for a wide range of hands-on greenkeeping duties, including:
Setting up the course daily in line with the Rules of Golf
Mowing tees, greens, fairways, semi-rough and surrounds
Bunker raking, changing holes, managing tee markers, drop zones and hazards
Top dressing, fertilising, brushing and switching greens
Identifying and controlling pests/diseases
Turf repairs and renovation
Machinery care and maintenance
Following health & safety procedures
