This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting the governance of high-performing academies, including Rochdale Sixth Form College – Ofsted Outstanding and Sixth Form College of the Year 2021.
About the Role
As a Governance Clerk, you will provide vital administrative and clerical support to the Trust’s local governance structure. You’ll work closely with Governors, Chairs, and Headteachers to ensure meetings are organised, efficient, and compliant with legal and regulatory requirements. This flexible, casual role is ideal for someone looking to develop professional skills in a rewarding education environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Organising and minuting Local Governing Body meetings (evenings)
- Preparing agendas and distributing relevant documents
- Maintaining accurate records and storing them securely on the OnBoard MIS system
- Supporting compliance with Trust policies and training requirements
- Handling sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in governance or administrative roles (essential)
- Organised, detail-focused, and confident in written/verbal communication
- Skilled in using Microsoft Office and willing to learn new systems (OnBoard training provided)
- Able to maintain confidentiality and work independently
A background in governance, education, law, or compliance is desirable but not essential.
