We are looking for an experienced General Practitioner to join our growing Winnersh-based team on a four-day working week. In this role, you will lead new patient assessment clinics, supporting individuals with complex conditions as they explore cannabis based treatment options. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering safe, compassionate, and forward thinking care in a rapidly evolving area of personalised medicine.
About the Role:
This is a full-time opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our expanding clinical team, based at our Winnersh site. Working over four days per week, you will lead new patient assessment clinics, supporting individuals with complex needs as they explore cannabis-based treatment options.
You will play a key role in delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred care as part of a multidisciplinary team. In addition to clinical assessments, you will contribute to the development of patient pathways, help educate patients and colleagues, and play an active role in shaping the future of alternative therapies within a fast-evolving area of healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct in-depth, video-based with new patients to assess medical suitability for treatment.
Take comprehensive medical histories, including current conditions, medication use, and family health background.
Apply clinical judgment to determine whether patients meet eligibility criteria for referral to specialist consultants.
Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant patient records in line with Montu protocols and clinical governance.
Provide patients with clear, informative guidance regarding next steps in their treatment journey.
Liaise with multidisciplinary team members, including pharmacists, nurses, and consultants, to support safe and effective prescribing pathways.
Requirements
GMC-registered General Practitioner with licence to practise in the UK.
Minimum of 5 years’ post-registration clinical experience.
Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
Comfortable working autonomously within clear clinical frameworks.
Interest in or openness to emerging therapies, including medicinal cannabis.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and digital literacy skills.
Desirable:
Experience in digital health, telemedicine, or working in hybrid care environments.
Experience in pain management, neurology, mental health, or complex chronic conditions.
