Labourer / Fitters Mate – Full-Time, Permanent

£12.21 per hour | 40 hours per week
Monday to Friday | 7:00am Start | No Weekends
Fast Fit Garage Doors is a well-established, family-run business with nearly 40 years of experience in the Garage Door industry. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Labourer / Fitters Mate to join our close-knit and friendly team.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role working alongside experienced engineers to install, maintain, and repair a range of garage doors. You’ll start by supporting our Lead Engineer – selecting tools, handling materials, and assisting with fitting and adjustments. No two days are the same, and you’ll quickly build practical knowledge in a unique trade.
No prior experience with garage doors is required, but confidence using hand tools and a strong desire to learn are essential.

- Physically fit and comfortable with regular heavy lifting
- Reliable and able to get to our site for a 7am start (bike storage & free parking available)
- Keen to learn and motivated to develop hands-on skills
- Punctual, hardworking, and adaptable
- A genuine team player with a positive attitude
- Happy to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Presentable and professional when representing our company
You’ll Be Involved In:
- Assisting with the installation of up & over, sectional, roller, and personnel doors
- General repairs and routine maintenance
- Loading/unloading tools and materials
- Taking deliveries, keeping the workspace clean, and supporting daily operations
Requirements:
- Ability to commute reliably to GL3 1DL for a 7am start
- Experience using hand tools
- Driving licence preferred (not essential)
- CSCS card (beneficial but not essential)
