This is a great opportunity for a real allrounder to become an integral part of a settled dairy team working with 250 high yielding block calved holstein cows and followers.
We are looking for a reliable, self motivated person to work in a team responsible for the cleaning, bedding and feeding of the herd, working with youngstock and also carrying out our field work during the spring and summer. There may be an opportunity to learn to milk cows as well but primarily this is a tractor based role with some livestock work. Attention to detail is essential as is the drive to be a key player in a successful team. The role will provide lots of variety so you will need to be ready to develop new skills and operate at a decent pace.
We welcome applicants from any background and with little or no experience as long as you can demonstrate you have the hunger to succeed. However some previous experience of driving a tractor will certainly help and you must ultimately like working with cattle as this is what pays the bills. There is accommodation available for the right person and this will very much depend on your circumstances.
The working week is 5 days, but as a valued team member, you will need to work alternate weekends. An average week is 45 hours, although some weeks may be longer in the spring and summer.
So if you think you have the necessary drive to develop a career on a fantastic dairy farm, then we would love to hear from you.
