Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Garden Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in horticulture with a commitment to maintaining beautiful and healthy garden spaces. This role involves hands-on work in various outdoor settings, ensuring that gardens are well-kept and thriving. Some experience of growing vegetables would be beneficial. This part time role would ideally involve working Saturdays.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planting, growing, and maintenance of various plants and flowers.
- Utilise power tools and hand tools for tasks such as pruning, trimming, and weeding.
- Implement irrigation techniques to ensure optimal water distribution for plants.
- Monitor plant health and report any issues such as pests or diseases.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and offering gardening advice to visitors.
Skills
- Proficiency in using hand tools relevant to gardening tasks.
- Maintaining standards of the gardens.
- Familiarity with garden maintenance practices including planting, pruning, and fertilising.
- Ability to grow various types of plants, understanding their specific needs for care.
- Strong attention to detail with a passion for creating aesthetically pleasing garden spaces.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to work independently when required.
