Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Gardener to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for horticulture and landscape maintenance, with hands-on experience in gardening and plant care. This role involves working outdoors and requires a strong understanding of plant growth, irrigation systems, and the use of both hand and power tools. Responsibilities
- Maintain gardens, lawns, and landscaped areas to ensure they are healthy and aesthetically pleasing.
- Plant, prune, weed, and water various types of plants, flowers, shrubs, and trees.
- Operate hand tools such as spades, rakes, and hoes effectively to carry out gardening tasks.
- Utilise power tools including lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers safely and efficiently.
- Set up and manage irrigation systems to ensure adequate water supply for plants.
- Monitor plant health and identify any diseases or pests that may affect growth.
- Assist in the design of new garden layouts or improvements to existing landscapes.
- Maintain cleanliness of tools and equipment after use to ensure longevity and safety.
Requirements
- Proven experience in gardening or horticulture is essential.
- Familiarity with landscape maintenance practices is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate both hand tools and power tools safely.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems and their maintenance is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Physical fitness is required as the role involves manual labour in various weather conditions.
