Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Gardener to join our team. A talented gardener is sought to tend to Capability Brown listed garden and historical greenhouse at a prominent Devon landmark. The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture and a strong understanding of landscape maintenance. This role involves the upkeep of gardens and outdoor spaces, ensuring they are healthy, vibrant, and aesthetically pleasing. The Gardener will work with various tools and equipment, including power tools and hand tools, to maintain the grounds effectively.
Responsibilities
- Perform regular maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, and weeding to keep gardens in pristine condition.
- Utilise power tools and hand tools for various gardening tasks, ensuring they are used safely and effectively.
- Irrigate plants appropriately to promote healthy growth and maintain soil moisture levels.
- Assist in the planting of new flowers, shrubs, and trees, contributing to the overall design and layout of garden spaces.
- Monitor plant health by identifying pests or diseases and taking appropriate action to remedy issues.
Experience
- Previous experience in gardening or groundskeeping is essential.
- Familiarity with landscape maintenance practices and techniques is advantageous.
- Experience using both power tools (e.g., hedge trimmers, lawnmowers) and hand tools (e.g., trowels, pruners) is beneficial.
- Knowledge of plant care, including irrigation techniques and growing conditions for various species, will be an asset.

Pay: £3,000.00 per month
