GARDEN MAINTENANCE & AFTERCARE HEAD GARDENER/ TEAM LEADER
Is this the maintenance role you’ve been looking for?
Imagine working in a team where your passion for plants and outdoor spaces is valued, your hard work is recognised, and every day brings a new challenge to develop your skills.
At Bushy Business, we’re not just about maintaining gardens—we create, nurture, and develop some of the finest outdoor spaces in the country. We believe in delivering excellence, working with high-end clients and award-winning gardens, and most importantly, investing in people like you.
If you love working outdoors, take pride in creating stunning landscapes, and want to be part of a friendly, supportive, and ambitious team, we’d love to hear from you.
What’s in it for you?
✅ Work on incredible gardens – You’ll be involved in maintaining, enhancing, and developing high-end gardens alongside passionate professionals.
✅ Feel valued and supported – We invest in your growth through on-the-job training, external courses, and mentoring.
✅ Opportunities to advance – Whether you want to specialise in planting, machinery, or leadership, we’ll help you build a career, not just a job.
✅ Great team culture – We work hard, but we also enjoy what we do. Expect a workplace where collaboration, learning, and a bit of fun come as standard.
✅ A benefits package that rewards you – Private medical insurance, life insurance, company events, a Cycle to Work scheme, and even cake and beer on your birthday!
What will you be doing?
Every day will be different, but your role will include:
· Caring for gardens with expert maintenance – including lawns, hedges, irrigation, terraces, pathways, and borders.
· Shaping, pruning, and training – from delicate perennials to climbing roses and orchard trees, your plant knowledge will shine.
· Developing landscapes – whether it’s adding new planting, refreshing borders, or implementing specialist techniques, you’ll make every garden thrive.
· Working closely with clients – helping them understand and appreciate the outdoor spaces you bring to life.
What do we look for in you?
If you’re the right person, you’ll already have:
✔ A strong work ethic – You love what you do and take pride in delivering excellence every day.
✔ 4+ years of experience in garden maintenance or horticulture.
✔ Great plant knowledge and a good understanding of garden care techniques.
✔ A Level 2 (or higher) qualification in Horticulture.
✔ A UK driving licence (essential for travelling between sites).
✔ Fantastic communication skills – You’ll be working with designers, clients, and a close-knit team.
✔ A positive, proactive attitude – We’re looking for someone who enjoys problem-solving, learning, and making gardens better every day.
* Bonus points if you have a PA1/PA6 spraying licence, irrigation system knowledge, or machinery certifications, but we’ll support you in gaining these if needed!
