Job Summary
We are seeking a creative and skilled Game Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for gaming and a strong understanding of game design principles. You will be responsible for conceptualising, designing, and implementing engaging gameplay experiences while collaborating with artists, developers, and other team members to bring innovative ideas to life.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop game concepts and design documents.
- Create detailed game mechanics, character designs, and level layouts.
- Implement gameplay features using programming languages such as C++, C#, and JavaScript.
- Utilise tools such as Adobe Creative Suite for graphic design and asset creation.
- Work with SDKs and REST APIs to integrate various functionalities into the game.
- Manage project tasks using Jira, ensuring timely completion of milestones.
- Conduct playtesting sessions to gather feedback and iterate on designs.
- Maintain version control using Perforce to manage project assets effectively.
- Optimise game performance by working closely with the development team.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in programming languages including C++, C#, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with game development tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Bootstrap, MySQL, SDKs, and REST APIs.
- Experience in using project management software like Jira for tracking progress.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- A portfolio showcasing previous work in game design or related projects is highly desirable.
- A passion for video games and an understanding of current gaming trends.
