Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Furnace Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining furnace equipment used in the fabrication and processing of materials. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. The Furnace Operator will play a crucial role in ensuring that production processes run smoothly and efficiently.
Duties
- Operate furnace equipment to heat materials according to specified temperatures and timeframes.
- Monitor and adjust furnace settings as necessary to maintain optimal performance.
- Fabricate, grind, and assemble components as required for production.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery, including cleaning and lubricating equipment.
- Utilise hand tools and tooling effectively to support fabrication processes.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot any issues that arise during production.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Experience
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in operating industrial machinery preferred.
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes is advantageous.
- Proficient in using hand tools and tooling for assembly tasks.
- Basic maths skills are essential for measuring and calculating material requirements.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is desirable but not mandatory.
