Job Summary
TK Transport and Forwarding UK LTD are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Freight Forwarder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transportation management systems and supply chain processes, coupled with excellent negotiation skills. As a Freight Forwarder, you will be responsible for managing the movement of goods, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing exceptional service to our clients. Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage the transportation of goods from origin to destination, ensuring timely delivery.
- Utilise transportation management systems to track shipments and optimise logistics processes.
- Develop and maintain relationships with carriers, suppliers, and clients to facilitate smooth operations.
- Negotiate freight rates and contracts to achieve cost-effective solutions for clients.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations
- Manage data entry tasks related to shipment documentation and tracking within CRM software.
- Collaborate with sales management teams to support lead generation and B2B sales initiatives.
- Work closely with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to enhance service delivery.
- Utilise EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) systems for efficient communication and data sharing.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, including AS400 system entries for inventory management.
Requirements
- Proven 2 years experience in freight forwarding is essential
- Own customers
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes and transportation management systems.
- Proficiency in CRM software and data entry tasks is required.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a focus on achieving favourable outcomes for clients.
- Experience in lead generation and B2B sales is preferred.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
