William Lee, based in Dronfield are recruiting for Operatives to work in our Foundry & Process departments. We produce iron castings for the automotive industry for a range of high profile customers such as Daimler, Scania and BMW. We have been in business for over 160 years and our customers expect and receive a high quality product as our top priority.
Our operatives are essential to our business and the roles involve working in a busy foundry environment on the production of iron castings, from the initial stages of moulding sand and making cores to pouring metal and the final finishing process where we utilise the latest robotic technology.
Although it is not essential, as full training will be provided, successful candidates will ideally have experience in a similar environment, including experience of fettling and grinding, casting, furnace operations and coremaking.
Candidates should have the following attributes:
- Strong work ethic
- Working knowledge of health and safety and good housekeeping
- A good understanding of English both written and spoken
Licence/Certification:
- FLT Licence (not essential)
Schedule:
- Monday to Thursday - Nights
- Plus any required overtime
- 12 hour shifts
Benefits:
Attractive earning potential, £12.96 per hour, rising to £13.44 per hour upon completion of probationary period, plus shift premium and expected overtime. Basic salary £40,000 (based on 46 hours on nights) plus overtime.

The role requires you to pass a medical assessment as this is a manual role with a high level of physicality involved. Please also note all offers of employment are subject to providing a negative drugs and alcohol test either at interview stage or after accepting an offer of employment.
You should have the right to work in the UK/Settled status.
This role would be ideal for candidates in the Chesterfield & Sheffield area.
