PRODUCT SAMPLER / BRAND AMBASSADOR
We are seeking a food loving, energetic and enthusiastic Product Sampler/Brand Ambassador to join our team on a part time basis.
Job Purpose
As a lover of food with knowledge of food and flavours, your primary focus will be to prepare and cook samples whilst engaging our customers in conversation about our product. Your mission will be to provide an exceptional customer experience that encourages awareness and brand loyalty.
You will use your communication skills to tell our customers the story about our product, what’s special, its provenance and unique selling points. To communicate with customers to understand their needs and preferences and to be able to assist them with suggestions of additional product they may need to enhance their purchase and experience with us.
Key Responsibilities
- To work with our Management Team to produce an innovative Sampling Plan in line with the business Retail Plan.
- To sample products, both existing and new and provide the story to our customer about how and where the product is made and why they may wish to purchase it. To provide suggestions about what the product is best eaten with, how it is best served and/or cooked.
- To promote any current offers or promotions on product.
- To provide feedback from customers to the business to improve product, better our sampling strategies and enhance our retail offering.
- To listen to customer suggestions for what they might like to see us make/produce or stock.
Experience
- A food lover with good general knowledge about cuisine and cooking.
- To have worked in a customer facing food related role.
- To have a natural curiosity for all things food related.
- Wine knowledge would be an advantage.
- You must be a genuine and confident communicator whose priority is to build relationships with our customers to really understand their needs and preferences.

Blacker Hall Farm Shop was established in 2001, born out of John Garthwaite’s passion to sell his grass fed beef direct from the family farm to the customer. What was once a small farm shop and butchery has now grown into a thriving business employing over 100 local people comprising of a full carcass butchery, fishmongers, delicatessen, restaurant, courtyard kitchen, greengrocery, pop up pizza kitchen, Little Farmers Trail and working farm. We’ve stayed true to our heritage and today all the pork and beef we sell at Blacker Hall is still home reared on the family farm here in Wakefield.
The team are passionate about providing exceptional quality products and we pride ourselves on exceptional customer experience. This is the perfect role for someone who has a love for quality food, sharing knowledge and loves talking to customers.
