Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting food and necessary items to various locations while ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires excellent driving skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to communicate effectively with both service users and team members. The role requires the applicant to be available evenings, weekends and holidays where required. Along side the driving role there will be assisting with jobs with the kitchen team to ensure the smooth running of service. Due to insurance restrictions applicants must be at least 25 years old and carry no more than 6 penalty points current or pending on there driving licence.
Duties
- Safely operate a delivery vehicle to transport goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload items, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintain cleanliness of the van both internally and externally.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery times and any issues encountered.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery schedules and any changes.
- Assist in kitchen duties, including washing of equipment, inventory management and organisation.
- Perform heavy lifting when required, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a delivery driver is preferred.
- Valid driving licence with a maximum of 6 penalty points.
- Must be available for various shift patterns including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays where required.
- The ability to manage your own time to ensure that deliveries arrive on time or communicate issues impacting delivery times.
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with service users and colleagues.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with loading and unloading items.
