We are looking for an experienced Fire Safety Officer to join the team here at Derby Homes.
Derby Homes manage and maintain approximately 12,500 properties in Derby, employing 600 members of staff. The diverse workforce covers both housing management teams and a large construction workforce including repairs, maintenance, refurbishment and new builds.
This is a varied and interesting role providing a broad spectrum of fire safety advice and support to all parts of the business, alongside conducting fire risk assessments at all our applicable properties. Whilst you will have a general fire safety experience, the knowledge of the Building Safety Act and high-rise buildings would also be beneficial.
In this role you will work closely with all areas of the business to foster a strong fire safety culture. This will require an on-site presence throughout all sites within the Derby Homes portfolio as well as offering flexible working. The candidate will be required to work closely within the teams to maintain high levels of fire safety standards, ensuring legal compliance through audit, inspections and training and promoting good working relationships.
The role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and work within a variety of settings. Candidates should hold or be prepared to work towards The Institution of Fire Engineers Registered Life Safety Fire Risk Assessor qualification including Engineering Technician (EngTech) status or equivalent.
