Job Title: Fire Protection Apprentice
What You'll Be Doing
As an Apprentice at Thameside Fire, you'll be at the heart of what we do, making a real impact from day one. Here's a glimpse of what your journey could include:
- Assisting Senior / Local Engineer in the installation and small works of a variety of Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting systems
- Assisting Senior / Local Engineer in the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive fault calls of a variety of Fire Alarm Systems
- Developing core skills and knowledge to carry out routine servicing, testing, inspection, repairs, and installation of Fire protection equipment and products to the relevant legislative and qualitative standards, alongside appropriate documentation and records in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Assisting with planned routine maintenance as well as reactive repair tasks.
- Collaborating with experienced professionals to gain hands-on experience.
- Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) standards, making safety and sustainability a priority in every task.
As part of your Apprenticeship, you will be learning the skills to become a fully qualified fire alarm engineer, whilst on site with your mentor.
After a qualification period we will then begin to enrol you on to courses that will giver you the qualifications required for this position.

- A keen interest in your chosen field.
- The ability to think critically and find solutions.
- Dedication to completing your apprenticeship and growing with Thameside Fire.
- GCSEs in Maths and English (Grades 4-9 or equivalent) Certificates must be provided at the interview stage.
- Full UK Driving Licence or nearing completion of lessons to drive.
