Finance Assistant
Bristol
Full-time, permanent.
35 hours per week (Mon-Fri)
Discretionary hybrid working policy, minimum 3 days in the office
Overview
National Friendly is a small mutual life insurer with a forward looking attitude and a broad and diverse portfolio of products through which it is seeking to support new business growth over the forthcoming years.
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our existing team.

- You will need to be self-motivated and have effective time management skills, ensuring general administration work is completed accurately and efficiently whilst working collaboratively with other team members to streamline processes
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing Finance Mailbox
- Allocate and record all premiums received by whatever payment method
- Assist the Management Accountant to resolve premium related queries, liaising with other internal departments as required
- Assist to co-ordinate the DDT collection files
- Manage the purchase ledger and payment of suppliers.
- Working with the Management Accountant to ensure that claims and premium payments are processed in line with the Society’s systems and procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Record and allocate all premium payments.
- Process new and existing direct debit queries.
- Administer the daily premium bank statements, ensuring that all premium payments are posted to the members’ accounts.
- Prepare weekly commission statements for brokers
- To demonstrate the Society’s values (Caring, Credible Agile & Dedicated) in dealings with colleagues and customers paying particular attention to the principles of Consumer Duty and acting with integrity
- To comply with PRA & FCA rules and regulations, Data Protection Act, Health and Safety legislation and the Society’s IT policy.
- To assist with the internal and external audits.
- Undertake ad hoc analysis work as necessary.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- To provide cover in case of other team members absence.
Minimum Requirements:
- Excellent Microsoft Office suite skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to carry out a variety of tasks within strict deadline.
