Finance Apprentice
Purpose of the role:
· A structured apprenticeship programme with mentoring and support
· Opportunity to gain a recognised finance qualification (e.g., AAT)
· Ability to understand all areas of a finance team
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Management of the Purchase Ledger
· Posting all purchase invoices and credit notes
· Reconciling supplier statements
· Managing and preparing supplier payment runs
· Dealing with all supplier queries
· Expediting short or missing supplier deliveries with the Purchasing Department
· Producing weekly payment runs
· Reviewing supplier Non-Conformance Returns for credit notes
· Reviewing all non-manufacturing open purchase orders
· Providing cross-functional support where required
· Raising Purchase Orders and Payment Authorisations
Person Specification:
Essential:
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy
· Good communication and interpersonal skills
· Basic understanding of finance and accounting principles
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
· Willingness to learn and take initiative
Desirable:
· GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at grade C/4 or above
Reporting to:
This role is reporting to the Finance Manager
Working Hours:
This is a Full-Time position working 08.30 – 17:00 Monday-Thursday, 8.30-2.30 Friday as standard.
You will be allocated time to work on your apprenticeship modules throughout the working week.

The role is based at our Head Office in Ashington, Northumberland
