Finance Administrator
Priory Hospital Avesbury House is looking to recruit a Finance Administrator to join the team. This is a full time 37.5 hours role.
Located near picturesque national parkland, Priory Hospital Avesbury House in Edmonton, North London, is a forensic low secure facility for men with mental health needs, who require continuing care and treatment. We have 24 beds which are fully funded by Barnet, Enfield and Haringey NHS Trust (BEH) and specifically by the regional secure unit at Chase Farm Hospital.

What you'll be doing
You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the hospital and to support the wellbeing of our patients. While your role doesn’t involve providing direct care, your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.
- Processing weekly and monthly payroll
- Maintains payroll processing system and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data
- Coordinating with the HR team to ensure employee related data is correctly loaded into the Priory Payroll System, and that all necessary amendments have been completed by the payroll cut-off dates
- Liaising with Ward Managers to ensure permanent employees are rostered a minimum of 8-12 weeks in advance including appropriate planning for holiday and training

What you'll bring to the role

The ideal candidate will possess a good standard of general education, including GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English. They should be competent in the use of payroll software and Microsoft Office, and capable of responding effectively to time-critical situations while working with minimal supervision. Strong administrative and record-keeping skills are essential, along with good management and organisational abilities, including the capacity to prioritise tasks and handle multiple responsibilities. A strong numerical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines are also important. Experience in roster management is desirable but not essential. Additionally, candidates should have experience working in a standalone role and demonstrate the ability to manage their own workload in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
